Registration is open for an online program, âTeaching from the Heart: Nonviolent Communication in the Classroom,â presented by the University of Maine Hutchinson Center. The three-day professional development program for educators, teachers and those working with children from preschool to third grade is scheduled for 3:30â5:30 p.m. Jan 25â27.
Instructor Gina Simm has taught early childhood education for more than 30 years, and has worked closely with Miki Kashtan, a co-founder of Bay Area Nonviolent Communication. Simmâs knowledge of nonviolent communication has transformed her classroom into a place where systems of the heart create a child-centered environment for moving through conflict.
