The Bayan Muna Party-list has asked the Supreme Court to compel Maynilad and Manila Water to refund corporate income taxes that they had passed on to consumers.

Water concessionaires Maynilad Water Services Inc. and Manila Water Co. Inc. argued there will be no new impact on consumers’ bills following the Supreme Court decision, which only affirms their status as public utilities and that their corporate income taxes were already removed from their concession agreements.

Maynilad and Manila Water have been barred by the Supreme Court from charging their income taxes to consumers on their water utility bills after the two concessionaires were declared public utilities.

Contrary to how critics have been describing her, an official of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict said Vice President Sara Duterte is not a red-tagger but someone who tells the truth.
