LOS ANGELES, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Over half a dozen wildfires were burning in the U.S. state of Utah, local authority said Thursday, warning the state would face

So far this year, there have been 326 total wildfires in Utah -- 42 of those fires were started in just the last week. And since May 17th, there has been at least one ignition every single day. Sadly, 90% of those fires were human-caused, leading to over 12,000 acres burned.

Vail Fire Chief Mark Novak has for years said it’s not a matter of “if, but when” the town will experience a major wildfire. Now, “when” may be sooner than anyone thinks.
