position that, you know, that the court will decide on. we ll see what happens next. tomorrow is a big day in court. thanks for coming in. thank you for having me. joining me toto talk about this and much more, anna palmer is here, senior washington correspondent for politico. chris cillizza is also here, you re so much more than just that. thank you. good to see you. thanks for coming in. you re here. you were listening to that interview with leonard samuels, what florida democrats are saying. where do you think this is headed now? the thing that is so stunning to me is how toxic the language is, how the rhetoric has gotten heated so fast. if you look at the last time there was a florida recount, the bush election, it took weeks to get there. the other thing i think is really interesting that we didn t tie in here, is ron desantis who was bear hugging the president on the campaign trail, having a lot of that fiery rhetoric is coming off as a statesman. he s stepped back. h
there has to be a reason why he s over there acting the way he acts. this man is our enemy. he fights us and do not forget they came into the 2016 election, they came in and tried to destroy the greatest democracy in the world, the united states of america. we cannot forget and now we re hearing this week that they are continuing their efforts. they are undermining our country. should fight and quit bear hugging like trump likes to do. looking at 2020, michael avenatti was at the wing ding seminar where he offered a critique saying that the democratic party must be a party that fights fire with fire when they go low, i say we hit harder. he says that it s time for the democratic party to not nominate a politician. what do you think? we ll see what happens with 2020. i bristle when i hear about 2020 because we have so much at stake, 36 governors, the house and senate. our future is on the line this year. it really these candidates should not be talking about 2020. we have too mu

now if you are the hill, you have no idea what he stands for after that meeting. it s like bear hugging the marshmallow man. you can t figure out how to do it. i have no sort of, i worked on the hill for 15 years before i went to the white house. you come out of that meeting and look at each other and say what the heck just happened. the democrats, chris murphy and other gun law advocates were saying is this another moment like the dreamer moment where he will back off of it immediately. we don t know what he really embraced yesterday. then there is his continuing attacks on jeff sessions, calling him mr. magoo. dates him and us, probably. he is subtly implying sessions will you were treating your own
going after him, in fact, saying i ve gotten to know him. he s a good guy. why fight cruz when rubio will do it for you. and trump will ride the wave. we like where he is in iowa. we like the cnn poll, and we think we re going to win iowa and new hampshire. like the poll where you re doing good and not the other one. that s the trump way. i think the strategy that cruz has is working pretty well for him. bear hugging donald trump to the point where donald trump doesn t feel antagonized. that works to his favor. the fight between cruz and rubio, rubio had better control on issues. he controlled the line of scrimma scrimmage, if you re a rubio voter you re convinced that rubio won. if you re a cruz voter, you think he won. i don t think a whole lot changed other than the atmosphere on the stage.
