The Los Angeles Department of Public Health has issued a health alert warning residents that fentanyl and other illicit narcotics have been found in pharmaceuticals in Mexico. Residents should be aware that a new report indicates the pills were purchased at legitimate pharmacies.

Xylazine – an animal tranquilizer known for its “flesh-eating” side effects in street drugs – has made its way to the Los Angeles illicit substance supply, increasing the chances of a fatal overdose. 

The Los Angeles Department of Public Health has issued a health alert warning residents of the increased risk of overdose and death associated with xylazine, which is increasingly present within illicit drugs in California.
