positive. so it may be that start of the omicron that we re seeing where kids may be relatively asymptomatic. but, again, it s too early for us to know the exact course of what will happen in children. and we ll be keeping in contact with our colleagues around the country to be sure that we re doing all we can to keep kids safe while we re here. how about you, dr. kimberlin? well, across much of the south, our delta wave reseeded by the end of october, beginning of november. right. so, we had a pretty nice period of handful of weeks just after thanksgiving. now in terms of cases, not necessarily hospitalizations, but our cases, it s almost a vertical kind of line. so, really, it s something that i anticipate will have a lag period. and we ll start seeing increased hospitalizations as well. even if, even if omicron is a little less, or somewhat less severe, compared with delta as an example, it is so much more
date is, larry english climbs up a ladder and looks down into his boat that is parked there and goes, oh, my gosh, my stuff is missing. he notices it sometime the end of october, beginning of november. he can t even tell you what date that was. he calls rash. he goes, okay, rash, you know, what do i do? and he talks to rash about this. and says, well, i don t know when the stuff was stolen. i don t know who stole it. i think it was my subcontractors who stole it. they re the first subjects, suspects. but he also notes the boat had been back and forth to douglas where he lives during this time frame. so larry eng llish says i don t know who stole it, i don t know where the boat was and he decides to not even get the police involved. what do you do? you call the nonemergency number and an investigator will come out and take a report for you, interview you, figure out what everything is.
0 this arm on ahmaud arbery was 25 inches, this arm was 26 inches and the barrel of the shotgun is over 28 inches. do the math. did he hit him? he did he punch him? did he strike him, when the shotgun is like this? easy, do the math. this is what travis mcmichael did. there is no fear here. there is only anger. remember, it is the standard of reasonable beliefs that the force used is necessary. do you really believe he had no other choice but to use this shot gun? is that what you really believe? no other choice. what are the alternatives? well, the first alternative is don t start this. i ll tell you something, my husband, he always tells this to our three nephews, david, ben and sam. what he says is there is some rules for life. you know what those rules are. don t go looking for trouble. because you will find it. and it is not going to turn out the way you think it is. what he s really saying is, don t be that guy who starts the bar fight and goes, let a s go t in the parking lot. i
that s great. it will be relatively safe for thanksgiving. but we have to remember, this is not going to go away. the goal for cases not translated to hospitalization, that s what the vaccine is for. and finally, before i let you go, we always look to have your expertise, your advice to families with children 5 to 11 years olds. we go back to dr. fauci, beginning of november, possibly a couple weeks from now, that is going to be in final approval, final use authorization for those kids. some parents, even those who are not anti-vaxxers who are fully vaccinated themselves, may have reluctance, concerns, about such young children getting the vaccine. this appears to be a safe and effective vaccine in that age group. based on completely new trials with a different dosing regimen, one-third the dose. in terms of efficacy, i think if you look at children, yes, they are spared from the severe
yeah, the bats are hot torque say the least. all right. so let me get to these pictures behind me because what we have been learning obviously throughout the last couple of years is how dry california s been, how bad the drought is in the west. and they do things a little differently in california because their wet season begins the end of october, beginning of november. they have what they call their water year. it goes from the beginning of the rainy season to when it begins the next year. they say it s just ending now, and we just found out it was the driest since 1924 this past year. the drought covers almost the entire state, extreme drought, especially in the northern half of the state. and they really only picked up about 50% of their average rain and snow throughout much of the much of california, from the central valley to the north. here s the good news, jon. we have a series of storms coming into california. they re lined up across the pacific. we re going to see all the s
