Washington County residents celebrated installation in the snow last week, but how does a resident within the 7-mile radius of the first wireless offering of the Southeast Ohio Broadband Cooperative sign up for internet service?
“So we’re going to have a sign-up portal (online), and I know it makes zero sense to have a portal to sign up to get internet… We’re also going to be using the same phone number that we used for the speed test,” explained the cooperative’s founder David Brown. “And then we’re going to send that to a Gmail that four people (with the cooperative’s leadership) are going to be monitoring.”

Little Hocking area residents have a big opportunity brewing, as they await the demolition of the former Little Hocking Elementary School building, and the property’s eventual transfer into the hands of the Belpre Township trustees. According to trustee Asa Boring, that process should be completed by April. Once it is completed, the next step is input from the public as the trustees figure out how to create an envisioned sports and recreation complex on the property.
Boring says the trustees are hoping to keep the four ball fields, with the help of local leagues; and that some trailers that will be left on the property could become an area for community meetings. Even soccer fields have been discussed.
