Only BJP can stop infiltration; Mamata s secularism fake: Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday claimed that the BJP is the only political entity which can stop infiltration and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee is concerned with fake secularism . Speaking at public rallies at Ausgram in West Bengal s Purba Bardhaman district and Chapra in Nadia district, the senior BJP leader alleged that infiltrators serve as the votebank of the TMC. The Congress, the Left parties and the Trinamool Congress will not be able to stop infiltration in West Bengal. The BJP is the only political party which can stop infiltration.

EC to hold all-party meeting in Kolkata over Covid norms in rallies.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has convened an all-party meeting on Friday in Kolkata to discuss strategies to limit the spread of Covid-19 during public election rallies in West Bengal. Aariz Aftab, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of West Bengal, will preside over the meeting. Aftab called the meeting after the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday asked the CEO and concerned officials to ensure strict adherence to guidelines of coronavirus pandemic as mandated by ECI in the remaining phases of polling in West Bengal.
The poll body will meet one representative of every political party today to discuss the implementation of COVID-19 norms for the upcoming four phases of the election. The poll body has asked all political parties in West Bengal to send only one representative to attend the meeting. The election commission on Thursday ended all speculations regarding clubbing the remaining phases of the Bengal assembly elections 2021. Elections in the state are taking place in 8 phases out of which polling for the first four phases has already taken place.

Efforts on to stop me from campaigning, says Mamata Banerjee
Minutes after the 24-hour ban on canvassing ended, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said that efforts are on to stop her from campaigning and asserted she is a street fighter and won t be cowed down by the intimidation tactics of the BJP. Banerjee, who earlier in the day had conducted a 3.5-hour long dharna against the EC s decision to prohibit her from campaigning for 24 hours, said the people of the state would take a call on stopping her from campaigning whereas the saffron party leaders can campaign.
