India News: RANAGHAT: A bomb exploded in front of a BJP booth president's house in Ranaghat in Bengal's Nadia district on Friday night, prompting the saffron part.
"We met victims of violence (during panchayat elections). Even women were not spared by the goons of the TMC. The law and order situation has completely collapsed in the state. West Bengal is the only state where so many people got killed during panchayat polls," BJP MP Vinod Sonkar said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to visit West Bengal in August to assess the violence which marred the Panchayat polls held in May this year. The BJP State President Sukanta Majumdar provided data regarding deaths in connection with pre-poll and post-poll violence in West Bengal to Shah.

The death count in the violence during panchayat elections in West Bengal rose to 15 after a person was found dead in South 24 Parganas, and two others succumbed to their injuries, officials said on Sunday.
West Bengal State Election Commission didn't provide information on sensitive polling booths to central security forces despite repeated requests from Border Security Force, said a senior BSF official. On June 7, BSF was informed of just the numbers of such booths without their location or other details.
