Mayorkas Could Not Say Whether Drop in Unaccompanied Minors in Custody Is Due to Fewer Children Crossing the Border

During an interview with “CBS This Morning,” Mayorkas was asked whether there was also a record in the number of unaccompanied children crossing the border in April as there had been in March and whether he sees his message of “do not come” making a difference.

For example, a month ago, we had thousands of young kids in custody in places they shouldn t be, and controlled by the Border Patrol. We have now cut that down dramatically.
