The Big Give Giving Circle chose to support Family & Children’s Services at its most recent meeting. The $10,600 gift will assist FCS as it makes mental health treatment available for people who are struggling with feelings of isolation, anxiety, depression and hopelessness at a time when they are also facing enormous financial challenges.
Left untreated, the consequences of poor mental health can be life changing and have a negative effect not just on the individual affected, but also on their family, workplace and community. Mental health treatment can prevent or lessen negative outcomes including unemployment, homelessness, involvement in the criminal justice system, substance abuse, self-harm and even suicide.
