The ongoing work on the new Marikuppam-Kuppam railway line spanning 24 km is progressing. The Railway Minister, Vaishnaw, stated that the project encompasses both Karnataka (6 km) and Andhra Pradesh (18 km). Land acquisition for the project is underway, involving 70.14 acres, including 49.70 acres of Bharat Gold Mines Limited (BGML) land in Karnataka and 255.24 acres in Andhra Pradesh.
