The one-time Farmington State Bank and Village Mall building at Farmington and Grand River downtown has been under construction for more than 2 years.

Surnow Co., has submitted plans to put up an 80-foot, 53,000-square-foot building on the rear of the 0.57-acre site with first-floor retail space, second and third-floor office space and six residential units on the fourth and fifth floors.

The new building would go up in the parking lot to the north of the post office building.
