It's all part of a nationwide effort to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and President-Elect Joe Biden's inauguration on Wednesday. The money raised will help ensure families don't go hungry.
This is an effort led by the Biden-Harris Inaugural Committee and the National Day of Service project. The committees teamed up with the Utah Food Bank. And they're off to an impressive start, thanks to generous contributions.
The committee cited public health guidelines that discourage public gatherings.
The nation is now seeing a surge in Covid-19 cases expected to extend to the Jan. 20th date for the inauguration.
The committee is chaired by Delaware State University President and former Biden aide Dr. Tony Allen.
We’re inviting all Americans to be a part of this inauguration by watching from home, rather than traveling to Washington, DC, in accordance with public health guidelines. (4/5)
In normal times, the inauguration would have attracted a large number of Delawarean’s planning to the swearing-in of the first president from the First State and working on getting invitations to inaugural balls.
