de-escalating inside of ukraine given how the conflict is playing out for them and seeking diplomacy to try to de-escalate this, this is not the path they are on. so we re sticking with our strategy of making sure we re strengthening the ukrainians hands on the battlefield and pressuring the russians on their economy. president biden will attend the meeting of the all of the nato leaders in brussels next week. can we expect these leaders to announce new specific support for ukraine? president is very much looking forward to being out in europe. as you and others have rightly pointed out, there is a high degree of unity and alignment among the western allies. nato allies in this case. and the president is looking forward to seeing his counterparts face-to-face. i suspect they will have a number of new measures that they will be able to disclose and rule out during those conversations but i m not going to get ahead of them. john finer, national security
