"The 50% reservation should be increased to at least 65%. The upper caste already has 10% reservation under EWS. Effectively, with a 65% reservation quota, the total reservation would be 75%. Earlier, 40% quota was free and now it would be 25%. This is my proposal," Kumar said in his speech in the Bihar assembly. At present, Bihar offers 30% reservation to OBCs and Economically Backward Classes (EBCs), 16% to SCs, 1% to STs and 3% to OBC women.
