The body of a 14-year-old girl who donated her liver for a transplant to the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in New Delhi was cremated with full state honours in Bhubaneswar. This is the first time an organ donor in Odisha has received such recognition.

The liver of a brain dead 14-year-old girl admitted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, was airlifted to New Delhi on Friday evening to be transplanted on to a patient. The liver was sent to the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi.
