Dhaka WASA awards 37 banks for bill collection 339 DHAKA, Jan 16, 2021 (BSS) –Local Government Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Md Tajul Islam today awarded ‘Bill Collection Award-2019-20’ to 37 banks in recognition of their performance in collection of bills. The awards, given by Dhaka WASA, were handed over to the managing directors of 37 public and private banks at a ceremony held at the Dhaka WASA Bhaban, said a press release. The minister said though work of maintaining city’s drainage system was handed over to two city corporations by Dhaka WASA, but the ministry will lay out a work plan for the two city corporations next week, he said.

Updated drainage management action plan for modern Dhaka: Tajul 286 DHAKA, Jan 16, 2021 (BSS) – A meeting will be held next week between the two city corporations to finalize a drainage management action plan to reduce water logging in the capital, said Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mohammad Tajul Islam today. The minister also remarked that the city corporations would be able to work better than Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) as the responsibility was handed over to the city corporations from them, said a press release issued here. He made the remark in response to a question from newsmen, present at the press briefing after the presentation of ‘Bill Collection Award-2019-2020’ at Dhaka WASA Bhaban in the capital today.
