Eighth graders from across the Thompson School District visited Ferguson High School and the Thompson Career Campus for a chance to consider possible career options prior to entering high school.
Lt. Jeff Pyle told the Reporter-Herald on scene that the incident stemmed from a "domestic dispute" and someone was taken into custody at a different location. He also said there were no injuries in the incident.
Students in the Thompson School District have worked to learn about Martin Luther King Jr. and express themselves in essays and art for the annual MLK Day Art and Essay Contests.
“This is something that at our core we don’t want to do,” said Chief Operations Officer Todd Piccone Friday. “But this week we had to start rotating route cancellations. So for two weeks we have two routes that we’re not providing transportation for. So parents have to find another way to get their students there. That's the impact you’re starting to see.”

A ceremony held in the Turner gymnasium included speakers from the Thompson School District, the Colorado Department of Education, The Colorado Education Association, various sponsors and a very excited student body.
