As per the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding), IN-SPACe will provide incentives and technical guidance to space technology equipment manufacturing units and startups. For this purpose, a technical support and incubation center will also be set up at the IN-SPACes headquarters, the government said.

The Gujarat government has entered into an agreement with the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) to establish a space manufacturing cluster in Ahmedabad. IN-SPACe will provide incentives and technical guidance to space technology equipment manufacturing units and startups, and a technical support and incubation center will be set up at its headquarters.

The technology has been developed at the Space Applications Centre, ISRO, and is the forerunner of ISROs upcoming high-resolution SAR satellite, the NISAR and made available for ToT to the industry by IN-SPACe.

Space regulator Indian Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre chairman Pawan K Goenka also said that the regulator will be driving application of home grown navigation system NavIC by developing use cases and urging industry to adopt them

Amazon has expressed its interest in bringing affordable broadband to India by entering the countrys satcom market. “Project Kuiper (Amazon’s broadband-from-space venture) will bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world, including rural and remote places in India,” an Amazon spokesperson told ET in an emailed statement.
