Very first bill he signed, the lily ledbetter fair pay act, which gives women the ability to sue over pay inequity. mitt romney ignored the question, and instead discussed appointing women to top jobs while he was governor of massachusetts. >> and i went to my staff, and i said, how come all the people for these jobs are all men? and they said, well, these are the people that have qualifications. and i said, gosh, well, cant we find some women that are also qualified? >> well, in 2002, mitt romn...

One which i learned a great deal about, particularly as i was serving as governor of my state, because i had the chance to pull together a cabinet and all the applicants seemed to be men. we took a concerted effort to go out and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet. i went to a number of womens groups and said, can you help us find folks? they brought us whole binders full of women. >> i guess the problem there is -- the reason i think is the su...

>> the good news for big shots like mitt romney is that most people dont have careers, they have jobs. >> wage earners. >> they work for wages. the idea of wage inequality is maddening to people. the fact they go and put 50 hours of work in a week and work hard and they think and sweat and have the worries of the job and find out theyre getting screwed, basically, i think thats more important than anything in the world. i dont know why the president doesnt ram it home. vicky as i call you now, a...
