Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced a magisterial inquiry into the arm-snatching incident at Chingarel Tejpur in Imphal East district and the recent violence in Churachandpur.
On July 26, the BRS too had submitted a notice to move the no confidence motion but was accepted since the Congress had already submitted a notice a few minutes before that.
Kanimozhi, who was part of the INDIA alliance delegation that visited Manipur recently, said, “We saw only despair and despondency in their eyes, whether we spoke to Meiti, Kuki or Naga people.”
KPA President Tongmang Haokip said the party had lent support to the BJP on the condition that interests of the Kuki community would be protected, but that did not happen.
BJP comfortably crossed the majority mark in Manipur and will form the government. Sources say N Biren Singh will be given a second term as Chief Minister of the northeastern state.
