Evacuated residents in three Texas counties began returning to their communities Friday as responders continued to battle the flames of wildfires fueled by fierce winds.

Low humidity and gusty winds fueled multiple wildfires Friday in Texas, burning homes and other structures and prompting evacuations of small communities.

The Eastland Complex fire has killed one person and burned more than 45,000 acres in the central part of the state, officials said.
