killing. there was a tense moment today during cross-examine. ex-officer tutau snapped at the prosecutor for asking why he didn t tell derek chauvin to get off george floyd s neck. joining me now civil rights attorney areva martin. ar areva, thank you very much. so here we go with what s happening in the courtroom here. here s how ex-officer tao responded. he said i think i d trust a 19-year veteran to figure it out. he along with his former colleague jay alexander king are charged with failing to intervene in chauvin s use of unreasonable force. is referring to a colleague an excuse? i don t think it is. we re seeing blame shifting, right? they re trying to make derek chauvin the responsible party and relieve themselves of any responsibility to what happened on that day, the day we know chauvin kneeled on george
intervene in chauvin s use of unreasonable force. is referring to a colleague an excuse? i don t think it is. we re seeing blame shifting, right? they re trying to make derek chauvin the responsible party and relieve themselves of any responsibility to what happened on that day, the day we know chauvin kneeled on george floyd s neck. one, blame it all on derek chauvin who s not going to be on trial because he s pled guilty, and the second strategy is blame it on the minneapolis police department. a big part of their defense is that they were not trained properly and that the training they did receive was consistent with the actions that were taken on that day. and i just don t think either of those arguments are going to be winning arguments for these defendants. tao said that using a knee to restrain a suspect was commonplace in the minneapolis police department. is that significant if he
retreating well, sort of. i want to know where nancy pelosi s mind is. this was a remarkable few days because it was it was for the people. but it was it was about ukraine. it just others here have talked about ukraine and how what our responsibility is there to those people. they are fighting for their country. they are fighting for democracy. flava crayona. she has affection for fighting for a country until americans do it and then she insists they re all insurrectionists. many of these were blame shifting. replacing trump with putin. putin caused gas prices and inflation. i m waiting for jussie smollett
could think cynically this to sort of shift the blame here or what do you make of that? how do you think voters will ea react to that? i think it depends the outcome, but i think right now a lot of voters out there, and this is something i ve heard over and over again, that are tired of the the blame shifting. they re tired of, you know, hearing there s nothing i can do to change the prices of oil. there s nothing i can coto combat the impact of inflation because it s because of these complicated supply chain issues and all these other thing, it s going to resolve itself shortly. it s not my fault because energy companies are ganging up on us. and so it really seems the problem really is that the president isn t taking responsibility. he keeps saying all of these issues are really complex. the american people are saying it s your job to simplify them and come up with solutions. fix it. you ve been president now for this whole year. let s get with the program now. we re feeling pain.
congressman because the president said, the president of the united states said i can t tell you a servitude. it there may have been but i don t have the circumstances. well, it could have very well happened. the president, this is a list of american names given to a terrorist group that we have been fighting for 20 years, and the president of the united states doesn t want to own it. he doesn t want to come out and say, yeah, we gave them a list because we believe these people will get out. instead, well, could have, could have gave it to them. might ve come i can t say for sure. if you can t say for sure, president, who can? you are right and it does not give me confidence as an airman, veteran, so many others counting on the commander-in-chief to be confident, sure to let the american public know that we are not leaving until we get every single american out alive. for him to wax and wane on this particular subject like he did on so many others, the blame
