Two injured in Wednesday morning crash on Blanchard Ave. By The News staff Two people were injured in a crash on Southwest Blanchard Avenue Wednesday morning that ended with one of the vehicles on its top, the Reno County Sheriff’s Office reported. Joye Friesen, 70, was eastbound on Blanchard Avenue in a 2001 Villager about 9:20 a.m. and struck a 2007 F150 pickup driven by Daniel Hernandez. Hernandez, 21, failed to yield while crossing Blanchard to the south, the report stated. After impact, his truck rolled and came to rest on its top. EMS transported Friesen to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for her injuries and checked Hernandez on the scene. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the report stated.

Lamond Johnson, 35, was indicted on Wednesday for the murder of 68-year-old Roop Chand Gupta at Madeira Beverage on Kenwood Road on Feb. 9, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters announced. Johnson was arrested on March 7 following a police chase.
