Ed Dwight, the first black man to train to be an astronaut in the 1960s, will finally be going to space on Blue Origins New Shepard vehicle at age 90.

Blue Origin said it would try again on Tuesday to launch a rocket and return to space for the first time in more than a year, after scrubbing a mission for last-minute technical reasons. Though the rocket will carry a payload of science experiments, not people, mission NS-24 must succeed before Blue Origin can return to taking wealthy thrill-seekers to the final frontier.

The former news anchor is nervous but also excited about the upcoming trip to space. Apparently, if you have enough money to spare, you can join the space race dominated by government agencies.

Blue Origin said that one of the rocket's back-up systems did not meet performance expectations and it was delaying the mission.
