The roots of blues music history run deep in America, dating back to southern plantations and field hollers, Chuck Renn explains. These utterances from slaves and sharecroppers took on a musical flavor that was later picked up by musicians, and after migrating up the Mississippi River and into cities like St. Louis, Chicago and New York, morphed into the essence of a unique musical experience known as the American blues.

The Blues Foundation honors The Blues Hall Of Fame Class Of 2024 (44th class) with an Induction Ceremony taking place at The Canon Center For The Performing Arts, 255 N. Main St., Wednesday, May 8.  A Cocktail Reception honoring the BHOF Inductees and Blues Music Awards nominees will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the formal inductions commencing at 6:30 p.m. Tickets, including the Ceremony and Reception, are $75 each and available with Blues Music Awards tickets.

The Phoenix Blues Society presents-Blues Blast 2023: A Tribute to Koko Taylor. A blues music festival at The Rhythm Room in Phoenix, Arizona.
