BMC fines telecom company for illegal digging, asks police to register FIR
In its complaint, the BMC s E-ward has asked Nagpada police to register an FIR and book the agency for damaging public property. An official from BMC’s maintenance department carried out an inspection of Sangli street and noticed illegal trenching by the telecom company to repair optical fibre cable.

While imposing penalty of Rs 2.2 lakh for damaging a part of the road and pavement, the civic body said it will deduct the amount from standing deposit of the company.
