BMW R 12 will use Rnine T s 1,170 cc, air-cooled, twin-cylinder boxer engine that makes 107 bhp at 7,520 rpm and 116 Nm at 6,000 rpm. It will be more powerful than R 18 which has 90 bhp and 158 Nm on tap. BMW working on RnineT based cruiser motorcycle? 
BMW launched R 18 cruiser last year in India while the R 18 Classic model was launched here last month. Globally, the R 18 standard has spawned a few more versions like R 18 Spirit of Passion. But the German motorcycle maker is planning to expand its range of cruiser bikes by adding some smaller motorcycles to the lineup. According to media reports, BMW Motorrad is working on a smaller cruiser bike that is likely to be christened R 12. This bike will be propelled by the same engine that powers R nineT and R nineT Scrambler, both of which were launched in India last week.

In stock form, Bavaria’s beast is put in motion by a twin-cooled DOHC flat-twin behemoth that hosts four radially aligned valves per cylinder and a gargantuan displacement of 1,170cc. At around 7,550 rpm, this engine is fully capable of generating up to 110 ponies and much as 86 pound-feet (116 Nm) of brutal twisting force at 6,000 rpm.
