An effort is underway to improve the access to one of the top fisheries in Pennsylvania.
Sen. Dan Laughlin, a Republican from Erie, is proposing to double the size of the marina on Walnut Creek on Lake Erie.
As the chairman of the Senate Game and Fisheries Committee, he said Lake Erie is one of “the greatest natural resources in Pennsylvania.”
In a telephone interview Thursday morning, Laughlin said he feels the state never really capitalized on its potential on the public side. He pointed out there are some great private marina resources, but he wants to expand on facilities that everyone can enjoy.
