Bob Stoops returns to his roots as he takes ahold of the University of Oklahoma (OU) football program following Lincoln Riley's departure on Sunday.

It seems pretty certain that Florida and Southern Cal had coaches lined up before they fired their previous football coaches.

The OU Board of Regents will vote on a $16 million budget for upgrades and renovations to OU athletic facilities in its Dec. 2 meeting, according to the meeting agenda.

Stoops will lead the team with Lincoln Riley taking the job at USC.

Oklahoma Sooners interim coach Bob Stoops was asked about how Lincoln Riley's departure made him feel and he expressed some disappointment.

Bob Stoops will make a ton of cash to coach one more Oklahoma game. He's getting $325,000 to coach the Sooners in a bowl game.

Several big names are up for the Oklahoma head coaching job. Among those names though is Georgia Football defensive coordinator Dan Lanning.

So long, SoCal.

The decision comes hours after head coach Lincoln Riley accepted the job at USC.
