The Grayville Community Unit School District #1 has confirmed that a student search was conducted recently at the high school. Administration had obtained permission from the parent to conduct a search. The district is currently conducting an investigation of the matter. No disciplinary consequences have been issued to any student or staff member involved in the search. The Board of Education will fully evaluate the matter upon conclusion of the investigation. No other details were released. 46-year-old Cadias Jackson of Dix, IL has been identified as the murder victim of a shooting incident Thursday night at the Rolling Meadows Trailer Park in Dix. Two people from Evansville, IN have been charged in connection with his death. Media reports out of Mt. Vernon indicated that 23-year-old Treyaveon Massie and 43-year-old Retha McIntire, both of Evansville, IN, have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with Jackson's death. Fairfield Police are investigating a stolen municipal vehicle from the Fairfield Waste Treatment Facility on 09/28/22. The vehicle has been recovered. Officers have identified the juvenile suspects and the investigation is continuing with charges pending.
