BOLTON has a “wealth of hidden and untapped talent”, say Bolton Family Fun Stars supporter and council leader David Greenhalgh. The initiative is is a showcase for talented local children and families run by Bolton Action group and supported by the Bolton News, Bolton FM, the Bolton Family and borough firms. Bolton Action wanted to highlight young entertainers in homes across Bolton – and so far graceful dancers, flexible gymnasts, skilled musicians and impressive singers have emerged. PR expert Lisa Forshaw, for Bolton Action, said: “Some of the entries are really amazing – there really are some talented youngsters out there.” Cllr Greenhalgh said: “We have always known Bolton has got talent and now is the time for families to show that off with this great initiative.

Many homes across Bolton have youngsters in them who are great at dancing, singing, gymnastics, drama, sports skills or other talents. You may have a wonderful artist at home or there may be a youngster who has taught clever tricks to the family pet.
HUNDREDS of children will receive gifts tomorrow thanks to the people of Bolton who have pulled together to save this year s annual Bolton Lions toy appeal. Businesses, organisations and individuals from across the borough rallied round and not only did they raise more than £42,000 to buy gift vouchers and toys but also donated gifts making Christmas for 1,571 youngsters of all ages, Ray Stafford, President of Bolton Lions, said: “People have been absolutely magnificent. We could never have guessed that we would have such amazing support – we can’t thank you enough.” The popular appeal has been helping local families at Christmas for the past 37 years.
