US bombers likely to participate in combined exercise

U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer aircraft are highly anticipated to fly over the Korean Peninsula as part of a planned combined air exercise with the South Korean Air Force - a decision that can serve as a strong message to deter North Koreas belligerence. Last week, four B-1Bs arrived in the U.S. territory of Guam for a Bomber Task Force mission amid concerns that Pyongyangs seventh nuclear test might be imminent. In June, four Lancers traveled to Andersen Air Force Base there for a similar reason.

North Korea conducted artillery drills for the second straight day, escalating tensions further on the Korean Peninsula. B-52 Bombers Complete Deployment to Europe, Strengthen Ties with NATO Allies and Partners

The U.S. Air Force deployed four B-52H Stratofortress aircraft to the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) theater August 18-September 21, 2022 to conduct Bomber Task Force (BTF) missions with key allies and partners. The strategic bombers are assigned to the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot Air Force Base (AFB), North Dakota. The aircraft operated out of Royal Air Force (RAF) Fairford, England, which marks the second time this year B-52s from Minot have flown to RAF Fairford for a bomber task force mission.
