Winter weather passing, some temporarily closed roads reopen
BONNEVILLE COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 2/27/21 10:30a.m.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office says Road and bridge advises Bone Rd. at Lincoln Rd. south as well as Sunnyside Rd. east of Founders Point (approx. 60th E) are now open.
But the Idaho Dept. Of Transportation website shows ID-32 and ID-26 are both still closed in both directions due to blowing snow and reduced visibility.
Various locations in Eastern Idaho are experiencing high-speed winds that are creating blowing and drifting snow and low visibility on the roadways. The Idaho Transportation Department has temporarily closed numerous roads because of the snowy and icy conditions.

IDAHO FALLS – Three local highways remain closed Saturday morning due to blowing and drifting snow.
Idaho Highway 32 between Ashton and Tetonia was closed around 5 p.m. Friday, along with Idaho Highway 33 between Newdale and Tetonia and U.S. Highway 26 between Ririe and Swan Valley.
Megan Stark, a spokeswoman for the Idaho Transportation Department, tells EastIdahoNews.com the wind didn’t get quite as bad as the National Weather Service predicted it would. Crews are plowing the roads and working hard to get them back open. They hope to reopen sometime late Saturday morning, Stark says, depending on weather conditions.

In addition to the highways, Bonneville County has closed Bone Road at Lincoln Road south as well as Sunnyside Road east of Founders Point.
It’s not clear when any of the highways or roads will reopen.
Most of the counties along the Idaho/Wyoming border are under a winter storm warning. Heavy snow of four to nine inches is expected, with even more at the highest elevations.
