CALEXICO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector rescued a man who was at risk of drowning in the All-American Canal Saturday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m., when Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) operators spotted a group illegally entering the United States east of the Calexico Downtown Port of Entry.
RVSS operators then advised that the illegal aliens had entered the All-American Canal in attempt to swim across. One of the individuals was struggling to exit the water due to the high vegetation and steep banks. The Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue team (BORSTAR) was notified and responded to the area.

Dulzura, Calif. U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents rescued three abandoned migrants on Otay Mountain late Tuesday night.
Tuesday, at approximately 11:30 p.m., agents assigned to the USBP Foreign Operations Branch (FOB) were notified by Mexican government officials that a group of illegal border crossers were abandoned by their smuggler while they slept.
The lost migrants were exposed to near freezing temperatures coupled with high winds and minimal food or water. Members of USBP’s Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue (BORSTAR) coordinated with FOB to determine an approximate location of the group. BORSTAR members rapidly deployed to the area on foot, with cold-weather equipment.
BORSTAR Agents Perform Rescue

OCOTILLO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the El Centro Sector successfully rescue an illegal alien Thursday evening.
The rescue occurred at approximately 6:10 p.m., when agents apprehended a group of illegal aliens in the Jacumba Wilderness mountain region of El Centro Border Patrol Station’s area of responsibility. While interviewing the group, a female subject had problems standing up and answering questions. Agents requested the assistance from Border Search Trauma and Rescue unit (BORSTAR).
BORSTAR agents arrived, evaluated the female, and determined that she had a weak pulse. At this time, intravenous fluids were administered to improve her condition. After her condition improved, she was extracted from the mountains with the assistance of BORSTAR agents. Agents and the group of illegal aliens arrived at Interstate 8 nearly three hours later.

JAMUL, Calif. U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued an injured man from Otay Mountain late Monday night.
The incident began at approximately 11:30 p.m., when Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue (BORSTAR) agents encountered and apprehended a group of four undocumented migrants while patrolling the remote wilderness area on Otay Mountain.
While canvassing the immediate area, one of the agents heard calls for help. Locating the source, the agent found a 41-year-old Mexican national who had fallen approximately 15 feet down a waterfall onto a rocky surface. The injured man told agents he had entered the U.S. illegally with two other men, but was abandoned after falling and becoming immobilized.
