The blowout preventer on top is not working. nothing to stop the oil from pouring out. in fact, inside of the real well, there are 1,000 psi, pounds per square inch there, and the static kill is taking mud from the surface, from ships, pumping it into a couple of these small openings, the n manfolds and the valves of the blowout preventer and filling it with mud, and heavy mud and it is not dirt, but a solution, chemical solution, that is much heavier than water and push all of the oil back down...

Either a permanent kill for this blowout or on the other hand make the problem much, much worse. so its important that we all pay attention. clearly, the safest thing to do would be to reconnect the blowout preventers up to the surface vessels, open the valves, relieve the pressure on the well bore, connect the relief well, run that casing, and do a bottom kill. thats what they should be doing. thats the safest thing and most people agree it is. >> all right. so we have an animation dealing with...
