This time Northwestern’s problem was getting punched in the mouth early rather than late, with the ‘Cats digging a 25-7 hole as the Illini brought defensive intensity with Trent Frazier and found Adam Miller and Andre Curbelo to cut holes in the Northwestern 3-2 zone defense. Kofi Cockburn grabbed a routine double-double and kept the ‘Cats in foul trouble. It was sunrise, sunset.
But for as ready as I am to see Northwestern move on from Chris Collins (though, I mean, fire him or don’t, it’s not my money and I think he’s an OK human being so what the fuck do I really care), it is inarguable that this team continues to fight for him. Chase Audige is growing into being a takeover player, Pete Nance showed his usual flashes like a sexxxy little skyhook, and Ryan Young is my favorite lumbering, overmatched Big Ten center since Luka Mirkovic.

Odds for Each CBB Bubble Team Making 2021 Men s March Madness with 4 Weeks to Go

The bubble for the 2021 men s NCAA tournament has an unusually abundant supply of mid-majors. Boise State, Colorado State, Drake, Richmond, Saint Bonaventure, Saint Louis, Utah State and VCU are all in the mix for at-large bids, but what will it take for them to secure a spot in the field?
Before we dive in, allow me to put a gigantic assuming these games get played disclaimer on everything. Between the pandemic and the recent/ongoing weather conditions all over the country, scheduling has gotten so messed up that we ve already seen the following just in the past couple of days:
Projecting if struggling Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky can make the NCAA tournament

The NCAA Division I men s basketball selection committee revealed its top 16 seeds on Saturday and it was no surprise No. 1 Gonzaga - the preseason No. 1 team who has stayed atop the rankings all season - earned the top overall seed from the selection committee. No. 2 Baylor earned the second No. 1 seed with Big Ten rivals Michigan and Ohio State named the other top-seeded teams.
What is surprising is the lack of blue bloods represented. Not only in the latest reveal but quite possibly in the tournament as a whole. Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan State and Indiana, schools accounting for 29 men s basketball championships, are all unranked and in jeopardy of missing this year s tournament, albeit in varying degrees and for different reasons.

Forty names, games, teams and minutiae making news in college basketball, where the Drake-Loyola Chicago feud has now supplanted the Drake-Pusha T feud as the best Drake feud:
SEEDING DILEMMAS
We’re inside a month until Selection Sunday, which means the Bracketology machinery will be running overdrive. Dozens of game results will be viewed through the prism of the NCAA tournament: who is in, who is out, what seeds should be assigned to those on the right side of the bubble.
The men’s basketball selection committee gave us the annual sneak preview Saturday, and there wasn’t much controversial about it but that doesn’t mean that creating the final product is going to be easy. With the varied number of games played, the truncated nonconference schedules and the X factor COVID-19 pauses, there could (and probably should) be a considerable range of opinions in the committee room.
