HOWLAND Three people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident about 10:35 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 46 just north of Mines Road.
Kristi M. DeSantis, 38, of Vienna was in serious condition at Trumbull Regional Medical Center, according to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, while Diane M. Peyatt, 34, of Niles and Bradly V. Stinson, 37, of Warren, were taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital with serious injuries.
According to the patrol’s report, DeSantis’ southbound 2002 Chevy Malibu went left of center striking Peyatt’s northbound Chevy Impala. Stinson was a passenger in Peyatt’s car.
The patrol said the northbound lanes of Route 46 have reopened after being closed during the investigation. The report states alcohol was a factor, and the patrol is continuing its investigation. Also assisting in the investigation were the Howland fire and police departments.
