Huntsville Senior Softball Recreation League celebrated its 20th year with a barbecue and two five-inning games July 27. Bernita Reese, director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Huntsville, threw out the first pitch on field 1 at Brahan Spring Park. They faced the defending champion red team which returned most of its lineup from 2020. But the maroon stayed close and finished strong for a 16-14 win on field 2 at Brahan Spring Park. Kelly showed he’s still got skills. He hit a grand slam as the gray beat the green 22-18 in a season opener at field 2 in Brahan Spring Park. He went 2-for-2 with five runs batted in and three runs scored.
