Paragon would have been willing to acquire the entire Communisis business on a solvent basis – including its pension scheme liabilities – for £1 in May 2023, but the deal was rejected and the group struggled on for a further seven months before going into administration with a subsequent pre-pack sale of parts of the business to… Paragon.

A total of 638 of the company’s employees at its Liverpool, Leeds and Cramlington sites will lose their jobs, hit by declining demand for printed communication and cost hikes in energy and paper.

A further 638 jobs have been lost as certain operations cease at the group’s facilities in Liverpool, Leeds and Cramlington.

Communisis had employed over 1,000 people in the UK and about 200 overseas

Communisis has gone into administration with parts of the business immediately sold to a new owner, but more than half its workforce has been laid off.
