BRATTLEBORO â Storm-related damage caused major power outages and road blockages over the weekend.
Kristin Kelly, spokeswoman for Green Mountain Power, said the storm hit most of Vermont with heavy and wet snow that came in wetter and heavier than forecasted.
âThe Brattleboro area was really where we saw most of the damage and there was significant damage with trees taking down powerlines and blocking roads,â she said at about 11 a.m. Sunday. âSo the conditions have been challenging for crews and theyâre still going.â
At the time, Kelly said crews in Windham County had restored power to about 17,856 customers and 1,403 customers in the county were still out of power. Statewide including Windham County, power for 42,312 customers had been restored and 3,141 were still out.
