The Bulldogs and their incredible throng of fans won it all at the College World Series with a 9-0 rout of Vanderbilt in the decisive Game 3 of the championship series, settling an SEC score and putting to an end this gut-wrenching and unforgettable year of college sports.
What a finish it was. And a fitting team to win the final championship, Mississippi State’s first in any NCAA team sport.
Coach Chris Lemonis’ bunch on Wednesday did not need to rely on the grit or resilience that powered it through a grueling year and brought MSU to the cusp of a title.
