BRECKENRIDGE, Texas A Texas man died after going into cardiac arrest when he was attacked by an aggressive swarm of bees outside his home, authorities said.
Thomas Hicks, 70, was mowing his lawn Monday when he was repeatedly stung by the bees outside his home in Breckenridge, about 130 miles (210 kilometers) west of Dallas, authorities said.
The Breckenridge Fire Department said first responders faced “very aggressive bee activity” when they arrived at the home. Medics and firefighters attempted emergency care but Hicks died, the fire department said.

BRECKENRIDGE, Texas A man mowing his lawn died after he disturbed a large nest of honey bees, which swarmed on the man and stung him multiple times, according to firefighters.

A 70-year-old Texas man died this week after a massive swarm of bees stung him as he was mowing his lawn. Firefighters were able to save the man s wife who was also attacked by the bees, according to reports.
Thomas Hicks ran inside his home Monday to alert his wife that the killer insects were attacking him, according to KGNS. But the bees had followed him inside.
His wife was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for stings. She returned home on Tuesday.
