Carlin, who hopes to unseat U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley in the November election, told those attending the United for Medical Freedom event that he believes the choice to get vaccinated should be up to individuals, not their employer or the federal government.

A group of lawmakers has committed to continue to fight against vaccine mandates when they reconvene, following up on a law they passed in the fall.

While COVID-19 vaccine requirements are a target, Republican leaders dont appear as eager to revisit other requirements, such as immunizations for students.
