LAOJoe, (shout out to him) I also participated in a collaborative draft/FA/UDFA exercise recently (picking for the Eagles). Each GM was from the fanbase of the team they were representing). It was fun but time-consuming, and the main thing I learned is it is much tougher drafting against 31 other real people than against a simulator. This was a multi-step exercise, that went like this:
Salary Cap
Overall you were required to cut/trade/rework contracts to get under the cap or be penalized picks, just like the NFL. I used the Fanspeak Manage the Cap tool to do just what the Eagles did and rework and cut as many contracts as possible. I realize it s not good for the team, but those are the cards Howie has dealt us. So my strategy was to get under the cap, then draft as many go
Projection Grade: 6.0/10 (Depth Player)
Projection: Late Round / Undrafted Free Agent
Strengths
Shows the ability to play the ball in the air
Good speed allows him to run with receivers or fly up to make a play
Displays the quickness to react and recover
Willing to stick his nose in to make a tackle
Weaknesses
Can be overwhelmed by blockers and taken out of plays
Not overly fluid hips which can allow a bit of separation on in and out breaking routes
Bigger receivers can seal him off and prevent him from being in a position to break up a pass.
Dicaprio Bootle announces he’s moving on to the NFL…what are his prospects like for the next level?
-Bootle only had 1 interception in his career in Lincoln, but did have 27 pass deflections.
-More thoughts from the guys on other players heading on…

In a season that looked for a time like it would never happen, and in a game that saw four turnovers and a 3rd quarter deficit, Nebraska (3-5) finally found a way to finish strong in a 28-21 victory over Rutgers (3-6) on Friday night in Piscataway, New Jersey, to end the shortest, and longest, regular season in recent Husker history.
In terms of total yards, it was not a contest. NU outgained the Scarlet Knights 620-252, and 365-59 in the second half alone. The great equalizer, both Friday night and throughout the 2020 season, was a toxic combination of turnovers and poor special teams play. Junior quarterback Adrian Martinez lost two fumbles and tossed a pair of interceptions. Rutgers won the field position battle by 20 yards, returned a kickoff for a score, and successfully faked a punt. In spite of themselves, Nebraska prevailed.
