Behavior lies with those people. i want to add one thing this morning. countries around the world watch this inflammatory debate between our president and the chairman of the foreign relations committee and just wonder what to do. they want to interact with the united states. these are crucial alliances. they want to understand where our iran policy is going. whats going to happen in north korea. i think its our allies, a particularly difficult time trying to figure out where policy is between t...

Really has invested his time and energy and guys like a jeff sessions he gets much more offended when they offend him and do things that he doesnt like than people hes not close to. he actually tolerates people that are not close to him or he doesnt really have that kind of relationship, much better than he does people that he has that trust with. i would say in an odd way the fact that he and rex are not buddies and tillerson is not in the inner circle probably allows him to survive much more t...

Picked up a large part of the foreign policy portfolio. the big challenge, and i think what he will have to decide in terms of future here, what kind of juice does he have left with foreign governments? when hes meeting with foreign leaders and he says this is the position of the united states government, do they believe him anymore? and frankly, talking to diplomats around town, they dont always believe him. >> i want to pick up on exactly that point with you, tom, because whether tillerson sta...

Was it bad info? >> it wasnt bad information, it just wasnt ready for the president. >> contradictory? >> not contradictory, folks would come in, there was an open door policy, and they could wander in and talk to the president about anything. thats probably not the most effective way to get information about very, very complex issues in front of the president of the united states. what john has done has really refined that flow of information so that we know before the president sees it. its ri...

Haley audition for the same job every other day. >> the president embarrasses and undercuts tillerson on the world stage. he said, i told rex tillerson that hes wasting his time trying to negotiate with little rocket man. save your energy, rex. well do what has to be done. wouldnt you be grumbling? couldnt he have called him in the office? >> this is where trump takes on a rather bizarre characteristic, which is he talks about it as though hes in the bleachers watching the trump administration a...

Highly of trump. hes clear hes not a confidante. hes allowing nikki haley to publicly audition virtually every other day for the same job. this is a disaster. and its going to end badly. >> well, the president kbarsz or undercuts tillerson on the world stage repeatedly. he started this week by tweeting this. he said i told rex tillerson our wonderful secretary of state that he is wasting his time trying to negotiate with little rocket man. save your energy, rex, he added. well do what has to be ...

Would be supported. >> representative rooney, is he right? do you have these three men that you named, mattis, kelly and tillerson, all three of them, are they the ones that are keeping this country from descending into chaos? >> no, i dont think senator corker has got that right. we have a president of the united states thats taken a hard line with north korea, and i think thats been a good thing. i think what he said about rex, your talking is not going to do any good, he may be right about th...

On. >> yeah. the comment being that the president is a moron is the reporting that nbc news broke earlier this week. but we havent seen the president attack tillerson which is interesting because he hasnt held back in terms of his fury protecting that on other officials like ag jeff sessions. if this is how many in the diplomatic community view tillerson hes on his way out, how does that impact his work on so many of these crucial international issues like north korea, like the iran deal, and ot...

Acting as if he wasnt bothered at all. by rex tillerson and the president is a moron story. >> im very honored by his comments. it was fake news. it was made up. made up by nbc. they just made it up. thank you so much. total confidence in rex. i have total confidence. thank you very much, everybody. >> after watching the secretarys response wednesday, one white house official said when tillerson didnt deny it, i assumed it was true. tonight, the president made some of the most bizarre comments h...
