Free bottled water will be provided to residents of Calcasieu Parish on Friday in response to water shortages and boil advisories caused by cold weather.
The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury and volunteers from the American Red Cross will give away free bottled water at the West-Cal Events Center from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, February 19.
Officials say volunteers at the drive-through site will give one case of bottled water per vehicle.
âThis is a great example of our staff and local volunteers uniting to meet community needs in a crisis,â said Calcasieu Parish Police Jury President Brian Abshire. âOn behalf of the entire Jury, we thank everyone involved in this great effort.â
