When failed local shock jock Joel Greenberg decided to run for Seminole County tax collector, he called out his opponent’s questionable ethics in office.

During his time as Seminole tax collector, investigators say Joel Greenberg doled out millions of public dollars on murky consulting contracts and salaries to friends and associates for little or no work, embezzled hundreds of thousands of tax dollars to buy himself cryptocurrency and used an office credit card to buy sports memorabilia, among other abuses of his position.

A potential key witness in the Matt Gaetz investigation, Joel Greenberg, had his guilty plea accepted and will be sentenced on Aug. 19.

A court order obtained by FOX 35 showed that a sentencing hearing for Greenberg is scheduled for August 19, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. in Orlando.
