Pueblo Police probe homicide after Easter morning shooting left 1 dead

Pueblo Police are investigating a homicide of a 44-year-old Pueblo man which occurred during the early morning hours Sunday near the intersection of McCulley Avenue and Cedar Street. According to Capt. Tom Rummel, police were called to the scene at 1:15 a.m. Sunday by a resident who heard a gunshot, looked outside and saw a male laying in the street. Pueblo County Coroner's Office uses semi truck as deployable morgue

Pueblo West woman dies in two-vehicle crash on U.S. 50

CSP said the crash happened on U.S. 50 at Swallows Road in Pueblo West. Lisel Weidenborner was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 39, according to Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter. The patrol said a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Weidenborner was turning westbound from the highway onto Swallows Road and pulled out in front of a 2009 Ford F-350 traveling east. The F-350 crashed into the side of the Chrysler, causing both vehicles to go off the highways eastbound shoulder.

'Deployable Morgue Unit' activated in Pueblo County as death toll mounts

Pueblo County activated its mobile morgue unit to help health care and funeral providers, the Pueblo County Coroner tweeted Tuesday. The semi-unit will be used to store bodies of recently deceased persons for short periods pending funeral arrangements.
